Everyone wants to take over the world
More followers, more likes, more subscribers – everyone wants to be the biggest and best.
Except us.
nir.media is just a project among friends, dedicated to encouraging, demonstrating, and celebrating strong, confident, and high acheiving audio artists.
That means not only growing…
But encouraging artists who are smart, confident in themselves and their work, and who put out quite literally the best work possible and get paid accordingly.
Those aforementioned things are often seen as taboo in audio and the arts. It can feel wrong to be proud of your work, be confident in your output, and get paid well. To many of us, this concept is downright foreign because we don’t know how to feel or be treated this way. There’s a good amount of fear and shame that comes along with the potential of looking haughty, arrogant, and like a giant jerk.
So nir.media is about embodying this internal strength, confidence, and subjective success in a way that you can see, feel, and share that it’s possible without being a super-jerk in the process. And because there’s multiple folks involved, you’re going to experience this in many different ways.
Here are some of us involved:
Adam T. Croft is the owner/operator of nir.media and has nearly two decades of experience in the business of playing with sound. His hands have helped bring films, television, music, live events, video games, buildings, and even stunt plane shows to life through sound. You can hear his work in the products and structures of Bungie, 343 Industries, Turn 10 Studios, Amazon, and Penny Arcade.
James Thatcher is a contributing artist to nir.media and has been working professionally in audio for over ten years. He began by recording music in in Charlotte, North Carolina, and later began gravitating toward sound design and game audio after moving back home near Seattle, Washington. James specializes in recording the natural world, as well as sci-fi sound design.
