What exactly is this training video series?
“How to Craft Phenomenal Gun Sounds from Everyday Objects” is a small, five video training series where James takes you through the thought processes he used to develop the sounds in Small Sci-Fi Weapons.

In the series, James covers the basics of creating various gun sound layers from everyday items including source matertial, recording techniques, and creative thought processes that go into developing a great sound.

This includes videos focusing on transient, body, and tails layers as well as considerations for recording techniques, issues with peaking, as well as mixing and tweaking sounds with plugins.

Why is James making a bonus training series?
Not everyone can go out and record gun source on their own, or just buy a library and tweak it like crazy to make it sound unique.

For some folks, it would be a really cool and fun idea to craft gun sounds entirely on your own from what exists in your house! But, there’s some complexity and creative thinking that’s required to figure out where to start with that.

With this video series, it’s James’ intent to give you that starting place and to get those creative juices flowing. Instead of creating a full multi-hour masterclass process, with this video series, James intends to give you enough excitement to kick you into high gear to just start recording!
